Funeral Mass on Wednesday, 24th March 2021 at 12:30pm. The family have kindly offered
7 places to parishioners who might like to attend the funeral, as government restrictions place a cap of 30 on funerals. Please contact the parish office if you would like to attend. Only those who book may attend. The Mass will be iive streamed and can be accessed here.

Lourdes Virtual Pilgrimage ExperienceTM
We cannot go to France on pilgrimage during this extraordinary time so Lourdes will come to us virtually with an exceptional blessing from the Holy Father! Pope Francis has proclaimed a Plenary Indulgence for Lourdes Virtual Pilgrimage ExperienceTM to be broadcast or live-streamed directly with the same grace as if we were in the Sanctuary in France!

The virtual pilgrimage will be live-streamed on Saturday 1st May at 5:00 pm. This is a wonderful way to kick off the Month of Mary and on the feast of St. Joseph the Worker, her spouse, in this year of St. Joseph.

Put the date in your diary. We will provide the link to join nearer to the time.

Dear parishioners,

Now that spring is in the air and Easter fast approaching, I would like to write to explain what is happening here at St Margaret’s with regard to Holy Week.

I am pleased to say that this year it will be possible to celebrate the Triduum in person but like the 10:30 am Sunday it will be necessary to book a place. Each Liturgy will be slightly truncated as requested by the Bishops following the lead of the Congregation of Rites. St Margaret’s can take 80 in the main building and 20 in the Hall. Bookings for Holy Week will open next weekend.

There will also be Stations of the Cross on Good Friday Morning at 10.00 am for those who wish to attend in person. We will be able to maintain our social distancing as Deacon Joseph goes around the Church.

The parish is also organising the following two events which are open to all the family, the first as part of our collective fundraising for the Lenten project and the second as our collective pilgrimage towards Easter.

'Make your own Easter Garden' competition is being organised to raise funds for the Lenten Project. Details about how to create your Easter Garden and what to include are in the newsletter.  The Easter Gardens will be displayed in the church on Palm Sunday. You can then take them home to enjoy during Holy Week.

Holy Saturday walk – A short self-guided walking trail around St Margarets, to collect clues and with reflections on the events of the Easter story. Open to all ages but small prizes for all children taking part. Starts and ends at the church at anytime between 9 - 11 am. Walkers to set off in family/household groups and walk at own pace.

I would like to thank those who are organising these events, and our Sunday team of welcomers, helpers and broadcasters whose work has kept St Margaret’s a safe place to participate in the Mass and allow those not able to attend connected with the Mass and community.

With good wishes
Fr Peter
