Newsletter: Christmas message

May I wish you and your families every blessing this Christmas and for a peaceful New Year. This has been an eventful year for the parish with so much activity whether, liturgical, catechetical, charitable and social taking place. As a Parish we have much for which to be grateful, especially the continued and dedicated response to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that has allowed the community to welcome new parishioners, encourage former parishioners to return and engage in new pastoral initiatives. 

The birth of Jesus that we celebrate at Christmas should give us all new heart in praying for peace throughout the world, as well as for our country, our community, our families and ourselves.

Christmas Eve - 5.00 pm, this is for families and will be followed by refreshments and hot chocolate.
Mass of the Night - 9.30 pm, Carols and Readings with Mass at 10.00
Christmas Day Mass - 8.30 am and 10.30 am
Weekday Mass in the Christmas Octave - 12.00 noon
Feast of the Epiphany - 12.00 noon and 6.00 pm

Feast of the Epiphany
A shared supper on Saturday 6th January 2024. A sign-up sheet is available at the back of the church.

Newsletter: Third Sunday of Advent

A few reminders for you:

Pizza and Prayer
This is an evening for those aged 12-18. A chance to reconnect with friends, together with an opportunity for quiet reflection and reconciliation. And of course some fun with pizza. Christmas Eve - 5.00 pm, this is for families and will be followed by refreshments and hot chocolate.

We need singers for the Children’s choir for the Christmas Eve Mass at 5.00 pm. If you are interested please contact Cynthia in the parish office.
We also need singers for the Christmas Eve Mass at 9.00 pm. If you are interested in joining please contact Gavin on gavin.evenhuis@gmail.com for further information on rehearsals and other arrangements.

Newsletter: Second Sunday of Advent

We know it is a busy time of the year, but please remember to make time for prayer and save the dates of events happening at our church over advent. 

Tea 'n Chat - Wednesday, 13th December
Enjoy warmth and good company here at St Margaret’s at our much loved “Tea & Chat”. Join us for our last tea this year on Wednesday, 13th December from 1.45 pm – 3.15 pm. All are welcome. Please feel free to bring along a friend or a neighbour.

Advent Penance Service - Wednesday 13th December, 7.00 pm

We will be holding a penance service on Wednesday 13th December at 7.00 pm for a prayerful opportunity to prepare for Christmas The Sacrament of Reconciliation, with guest Confessors, will be available.

The Mustard Seed 
The Mustard Seed presenting ‘Shine your Light’ on Saturday 16th  December 2023 at 8.00 pm in the Church Hall. ‘Shine your Light’ is an initiative of the National day of Prayer and Worship in which all denominations join together for praise and worship and to spread the Gospel. Please see www.shineyourlight.org.uk

There will be readings and reflections suitable for advent and refreshments will be served.
